Butter London dupe.

Butter London is a brand I've always wanted to try but their £14 price tag always puts me off. I could spend hours at the little stand, stocked full of bright, bold, shades, filling my basket with a handful. After reading about Butter London 'The Black Night' on Nouvelle Daily, I was sure I had something similar in my nail polish collection. Cue; Barry M 'Black with Multi Glitter'.

Barry M 'Black with Multi Glitter' - Superdrug £2.99

Both polishes are packed with multi coloured glitter and both are opaque with, pretty much, one coat. I was, pleasantly, surprised when I used the Barry M polish, to find it dried quite quickly. Once dry they do resemble a semi-matte textured polish, which, I know, isn't everybody's cup of tea. After adding a glossy top coat on afterwards really makes the glitter sparkle even more.

My favourite thing about this polish has to be how the light really catches the glitter and it's something a little different, rather than just a plain black. I wish I could say the lasting time was fantastic but, sadly, it isn't however that's nothing a good quality top and base coat can't solve. Overall, I'm completely in love with this polish right now and I think it would be perfect for the party season ahead of us.

Essie Sunday Funday | Review

I was so excited when I realised Essie had released their new Summer collection; Naughty Nautical and I couldn't wait to check out their new shades. All of the shades really stood out to me, but Sunday Funday (awesome name, I know) in particular.
Almost all of their new shades contain shimmer, which I think is a very pretty and girly effect and there's no extra effort required. On Essie's website Sunday Funday is described as a 'tangerine coral crush shimmer' which is basically this shade in a nutshell. It reminds me of Essie's Cute as a button, just with shimmer.

Sunday Funday is a bright pinky coral, that's perfect for Summer. This shade reminds me of holidays, and it's a great way to inject some colour into your outfit/look. As you know, I am a huge fan of the Essie brushes and formulation and this shade is opaque with two coats (but you could most definitely get away with one). As far as longevity goes, it doesn't last very long before chipping but that depends on what top coat you use. In my opinion every beauty blogger needs a shade like this in their collection, it's a Summer staple.

The Nails: Models Own Splash Collection

I really don't need any more nail polishes but when I first saw these I was practically hyperventilating, I mean, I'm sure there's room for a few more? As soon as I saw these, I had to alert you.

The collection consists of five shades; Aqua Splash, Golden Shore, Pink Paradise, Mermaid Tears and Red Sea. Each nail polish is packed with chunky pieces of iridescent glitter, that claim to glisten, sparkle and refract the light. 

I think these would be great to use over the top of another nail polish, to add a bit of sparkle to a dull nail polish. This collection just reminds me of Summer and they've been created with the sea and distant shores in mind, and they certainly have me dreaming of tropical beaches and and a Summer haze. I'll most definitely be  getting my hands on at least one of these and I'll do a review too.

The Nails: MUA vs Essie...

Whilst I was browsing Superdrug the other day, I noticed that MUA have re-designed their nail polish bottles. I was actually quite shocked at how similar they look to the Essie bottles. I love how simple and professional-looking the Essie bottles are I didn't even know brands could make a product look so similar, obviously the MUA ones are smaller in size, and the packaging is a little more 'plastic' as you can see in the photo.

The price and quality of the products do differ though,  the quality of MUA is no way near as good as Essie but they do have a pretty selection of shades available to have a gander at. MUA's Pistachio Ice cream is incredibly similar to Essie's Mint Candy Apple. MUA's are priced at £1 each (a complete bargain if you ask me) and Essie's are £7.99.

A great factor with Essie's nail polishes are the brushes. I know every time I talk about Essie I mention this, but they really are fantastic quality and MUA have a lot of catching up to do if they want to beat them.
So there's my thoughts on the new MUA packaging, do you love or loathe it?

Models Own Blueberry Muffin Nail Polish | Review

A little while a go I wrote a post to inform you of the Models Own Fruit Pastel collection and since then, I've been eager to get my hands on this particular shade. Blueberry Muffin is a cute pastel, baby blue shade and I don't think I've ever seen another shade quite like it. After two coats, it's beautifully opaque and has a lovely creamy finish. Some people may see the scented claims to be a bit of a gimmick but once dry these do have a slight blueberry scent, but even if it didn't I wouldn't be bothered because it's such a gorgeous colour on its own anyway! There's another 4 shades in the collection and no doubt I'll be picking some more up sometime soon. These are available at Boots for a reasonable £5 and with their 3 for 2 offer on at the moment, now is the time to stock up.

Easter Bunny Nails | Tutorial

I love Easter, it's one of my favourite times of the year (yes, because I have an excuse to eat more chocolate than usual) But I love to keep my nails to a theme too, and for Easter, Yes you guessed it! Easter bunnies!

I was actually quite impressed with how they turned out, seen as I'm no nail expert:

Here's what you will need to create the same nail look as me:

From L-R; Collection nail polish in Dynasty, Rimmel Lycra Pro nail polish in Urban Princess, Rimmel Lycra Pro nail polish in Black Pearl, Wet 'n' Wild French Manicure White nail polish and Nail Dotting pens.

Step 1: Paint your nails with any base colour you like, I used Collection's nail polish in Dynasty. Make sure you have a smooth opaque base, I applied two coats.

Step 2: Paint almost half of your nail white and make sure it's rounded at the edges otherwise it won't look like a bunny's head. And using large dotting tool paint on the bunny's ears.

Step 3: Paint on the bunny's eyes with a black nail polish using a small-ish dotting tool. And once dried put an even smaller white dot in the centre of the black one, so they look like eyes.

Step 4: Using a bright pink colour, I used Rimmel Lycra Pro nail polish in Urban Princess, to add the inside of the bunny's ears and of course a cute little nose too.

I chose to only paint two of fingers with a bunny design but you can paint them however you wish to. I hope you enjoyed my mini tutorial showing you how to create a simple, fuss-free Easter bunny design. I really like them and will probably have them on my nails for some time after Easter too, as they are just too cute to get rid of!

Glitter..

I am a lover of nail polish and I own quite an array of shades, but it isn't often that I come across a glitter nail polish that I like. Well whilst I was browsing the makeup section in Superdrug yesterday, something caught my eye...

NYC Expert last nail polish in 'Gramercy Glitz' £2.49

This is just so gorgeous, I have been on the hunt for a glitter nail polish at a reasonable price and I couldn't believe my eyes when I came across this beauty. It's easy to apply and one coat does the job too. It's perfect on it's own or on top of another colour, so when I want my nails to look more natural I'll just use it on it's own. It's a clear based polish packed full of pink, blue and green glitter in small sizes. It's definitely worth the money and I can guarantee this is going to be a favourite of mine for a long time.
