The Edit | Summer Beach Bag Essentials!

Today I thought I'd share some of my beach bag essentials with you, I never really take too much with me but these are some products that are a must-have for me when I'm at the beach. Obviously a towel, sunglasses and flip-flops etc are necessary for the beach but I didn't bother to include them because they're pretty self explanatory!

Hand Sanitizer/Wipes - I always have a hand sanitizer with me wherever I go, so I like to take one with me to the beach. Not a must-have for everyone but I like to have one 'just in case'. And a mini pack of wipes are always handy to have.

Perfume - A perfume or body spray is great to take to the beach with you to ensure you smell good all day. If you don't want to take the full bottle with you then you can buy a Travalo, it's very easy to use and it's much more bag-friendly!

Evian Face Spray - I love to use these face sprays to refresh my skin when it's getting hot and your face might be feeling a little sweaty (nice).

Sun Screen - Obviously whenever you go to the beach you need a bottle of sun screen with you, it's best to apply it about 10-15 minutes before you head out but top-up throughout the day as not all of them are water-resistant.

Lip Balm (with SPF) - Lip balm is something I find myself struggling to leave the house without any time of the year, but it's definitely something you should take to the beach with you. It's surprising how many people forget to protect their lips from the sun, so make sure your lip balm has SPF in it! One of my favourites is Softlips.

Salt Spray - Your hair may not be looking its best on a hot day, so spritz some salt spray in your hair to give it that 'windswept' look. There's lots of different ones out there, from L'Oreal to Bumble and Bumble.

What are your beach bag essentials?

The Makeup: Bourjois Bronzing Primer | Review

When I first heard about the new Boujois bronzing range, I was so excited to try their new products out and the main product I was drawn to was their bronzing primer. I've always wanted to try the Clarins Instant Self Tanning Primer but I thought I'd give this a go first!

It mattifies your skin leaving it feeling very smooth and helps to even out your skintone. It's soft velvety texture makes this primer so easy to apply to your face but bare in mind, you really don't need much of this (especially if you have pale skin like me) otherwise your face will look a little orangey, so I can see it lasting me a long time.
The only thing that I'm not too keen on with this product is the "chocolate" scent, but you can't smell it once it's on your face.
It has been compared to Chanel Bronze Universal but this is more of a mousse texture rather than a cream product and I find it's much easier to use as a base. As far as adding colour goes, I'd say it does pretty well at giving my skin that bronzed and healthy glow, but it all depends on what products you put over the top.
It says on the Bourjois website that it contains Cocoa beans and Orange Blossom elixir to help hydrate your skin and add radiance too.
Overall I'm very pleased with this bronzing primer, it comes in at £9.99 which isn't cheap but it's not the most expensive I've seen.

Will you be trying out this primer? What do you think of it?

Mac All That Glitters | Review

This is my first ever Mac eyeshadow, so when it arrived in the post you could say I was a little excited (okay I ripped the package open).
I basically wanted a neutral everyday shade, and one that every beauty blogger seemed to own - and love - was All That Glitters. It has got the thumbs up from many of my favourite beauty bloggers, so I was expecting good things and I wasn't disappointed.

All That Glitters is a gorgeous pinky-gold champagne colour which is described as a beige colour with gold pearl on Mac's website, and in my opinion it's a perfect all-over-the-lid shade. It blends very easily and contains just the right amount of shimmer (not too much, but not too little) and it feels very smooth too.
I have worn this eyeshadow during the day and I used it when I went out the other night for a meal, and I think it's very versatile because you can apply it on it's own or use some slightly darker shades in your crease to create a night-time look.

As this Mac eyeshadow was a hit, I'm already noting down some more shades to add to my - small - collection. What do you think of All That Glitters?

The Weekend Post #16: Sun, Sun, Sun.

Heat wave? Yes please... With the temperate rising I've been spending more time enjoying the sun than I have been blogging recently, so it's just a quick post today. Apart from eating ice-cream (how can you resist an ice cream in hot weather like this?), shopping and carbooting I've been relaxing and getting burnt (nice).

Had to take a photo of these lovely flowers

Sunset from the other night

I managed to pick up a stunning black and white striped ruck sack from Topshop in the sale for an amazing £10 too!  - I do love a good bargain - and I'm so excited about Maybelline Baby Lips being released here in the UK (finally!). All I need now is a BBQ.

What have you been up to this sunny weekend?

Monthly Favourites | June

Yes, it's that time of the month again where everyone is sharing their favourite beauty products that they've been using the past month, so here goes... This months favourites include some newbies and a few old friends that have made their way back into my routine.

Essie Nail Polish in Fiji- This shade has been gracing  my nails mainly this month. A milky pink shade that I think looks very sophisticated and I don't have any other shades like this in my collection. It suits pale skin tones (i.e-me) but if you had a tan, it would emphasize the colour a lot more. It does go streaky on the first coat but once you've put 2 coats on, there isn't a streak in sight.  As you know I love the brushes and formula of Essie nail polishes and they have never disappointed me yet.

Dove Nourishing Oil Care Leave-In Conditioner- I'm sure almost everybody will have those days where your hair is so dry or you find it hard to get a bush through, I certainly do (especially after blow-drying my hair). To help get soft and smooth feeling hair, I've been using this Dove leave-in conditioner. First of all the scent of this is just heavenly, I like to spray it mainly on the ends of my hair to make them frizz-free and then go through my hair with a brush afterwards. It can be used on wet or dry hair too, perfect to reduce frizz, tame any flyaways and hydrate your hair.

Juicy Couture, Couture La La- It's described as a sweet blend of Mandarin and white florals on Juicy Couture's website, it's probably more for Spring time but I like to wear this kind of scent any time of year really. The bottle that this comes in is gorgeous, a pink ribbon and diamantés what more could a girl want?

Rimmel Stay Matte Face Powder- Every beauty blogger must have heard about this face powder at some point, Tanya Burr (and many others) swear by it and it's a bargain too. A light dusting of this, concentrating on my t-zone is all I need for shine-free skin - almost - all day.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer- Despite my love for the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, as I came to an end of one of my (many) tubes I decided to try something new. The Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation is one my favourites so I was expecting good things from their concealer. It covers very well leaving no signs of blemishes or under eye circles, it has a slightly thicker consistency when compared to the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer which I think I prefer.

So that concludes my June favourites, what have you been loving recently?
